Inside 188 Galerie

The start of 2015 was also the beginning of a new concept of business.

188 Galerie @188galerie.com

188 Lafayette Street │New York, NY 10013 │800.809.9880

A gallery space that celebrates paper as an art form. 188 Galerie features artists who are inspired by paper as a powerful creative medium and source of artistic expression.

In addition to exhibitions, the gallery has a select collection of artisanal cards, journals, stationery, and decorative sheets, carefully curated from around the world.

188 Galerie is the resource for paper aficionados.

On January 12, 188 Galerie launched #lahtipopup in partnership with Charles Lahti Studio. Featuring limited edition prints and silk screens of Charles Lahti

Beloved friend and a longtime transplant of New York City, Charles is an artist and master print maker who has been a creative force within the art community for over three decades.

Always captivated by the nexus of art and community, Charles is at the forefront of a number of creative art movements and mediums - including performance, graffiti and multimedia.

Catch him and come see his works on display at the gallery and online until March 18.

The next featured artist is Morgan Jesse Lappin

In 2007, at the age of 28, Morgan began making collage art in t-shirt designs. A passion that led him to start the Brooklyn Collage Collective and pull together some of the most unique collage artists in New York City.

With shows all over the world, be sure to stop in and enjoy these works where "juxtaposition of character and setting create witty and poignant statements that make people think, and most times smile."

Morgan's exhibit at 188 Galerie begins in April.
