On June 26, 2015 the Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution provides same-sex couples in all 50 states the right to marry.
Two days later hundreds of thousands of people on Sunday [June 28] packed gay pride events from Chicago to New York City, Seattle to San Francisco, Sao Paolo to Belgrade with overall attendance swollen to millions in celebration of a freshly endorsed right to marry.
In our community we are especially ecstatic for our friends and family who can now marry openly and officially. We ardently pray other countries soon follow suit.
Too many have been made to wait too long. Although some lucky enough have been able to marry where it’s been available it makes a difference to return back to one’s home country and have the union recognized there too.

Besides, we believe our laws should evolve as we do to better serve and protect all of humanity - not just a select few.

This is not just a historic moment for the gay rights movement or for Americans - it is global and universal.
